Friends 

 

we were friends back then

when we were driving that bus

we were so happy

cause we were ‘one of us‘

 

all venues dressed in red

with seats that waited for us

many empty chairs ahead

but we just didn’t discuss

 

cause we are friends

friends, friends, friends

yes we are friends

friends till the end 

 

we sang about hunger 

and about solidarity

and it was no wonder

that served our popularity

one day some of us 

said they wanna leave the bus

that was a real road test

'cause who should fill in the blanks?

The Chosen One was no good

at least for some of us

but we are so friendly

‘cause we are all one of us

so some of us had to leave the bus

and The Chosen One took her seat

now we are on the road again

singing for John and his Cane
